I recently bought a new gpu with the great deal newegg is having on their evga 780 ti cards. The card i bought is on this link, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... . It says it requires a minimum of a 600 watt power supply with 42 amps on the +12 volt rail. My current power supply is on this link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... . Will my current power supply be efficient or do i need to upgrade? Thank you in advance for any help you guys can offer.

Well that PSU is sadly very average-low quality, not good for a brand new 780 Ti, get a better PSU quality wise.

I kind of figured as much seeing as the psu is a few years old. Any recommendations on a more suitable psu. Preferably under the $100 price mark as a good chunk of my money went towards the card. After doing a quick browse on newegg, would this psu be more sufficient, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... . I assume its better to have more of a buffer with the wattage or do you think i could get away with a 650 watt psu?

Don't touch Corsair CX/ VS/ CS/ builder PSUs, they're low quality. To be clear, your current PSU is not bad wattage wise, but rather quality wise, it uses cheap capacitors which melt on high load, that is why a straight no. You can get much better PSUs in that price range. Also, a rule of thumb is, never use an old PSU with a new system, unless its extremely high quality.

A blessing for under $100 would be this PSU:

^1kW, capable of running 2 780 Ti's in SLI, great quality, Modular, better than any other PSU in every possible way :)

PS: If you're looking to spend as less as possible, then SeaSonic S12II 620W or XFX Pro 650W would be good enough too.
