cpu upgrade for laptop

i purchased the Q9100 and installed it however the screen freezes at boot logo and i get enter bios or boot menu, nothing happens for the laptop (model 7736g) when i put the old cpu back in it works fine will the Q9100 not work on this laptop?

what you want to do now to solve the problem is go to the manufacturer website and download the latest bios for your system to support the cpu .. nb , a bios update is extremely dangerous and if not done correctlty can damage your computer beyond repair

Yeah, a bios update might do it, and if you don't mind the risk, it may be worth a try.

there as to be a bios update for the computer... just go to the download section of the computer page and you should see atleast one bios update

it should work fine for the cpu .. read the log or changelog txt if there is any

there wasn't a channellog, it didn't work, i had the old cpu in and i ran windows 64 bit. then i downloaded the bois update and ran the batch fie it installed the bios update but i have the exact same problem as before it get stuck on boot screen and i don't get the option to open bios
