Hi,

I wanted to ask you guys if you maybe know a solution for my lag issues ingame.

I recently bought new hardware, set up:

Intel Core i5 4670K Boxed
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
MSI R7870 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC (from previous desktop)
Gelid Solutions Tranquillo Rev.2
Corsair Vengeance Pro CMY8GX3M2B2133C9R
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

While being ingame (doesn't really matter what game) after a while my pc starts to lag.

I have updated all my drivers by msi live update and windows update.

The CPU temp ingame: 35-40 degrees
The GPU temp ingame: 40-45 degrees (higher when on a more heavy game)

I can't really tell what the problem may be. Aside gaming the PC works fine.

Have you checked your task manager to see whats going on while gaming? Its most likely due to the gpu driver as you have a solid rig there. Run a virus scan too and be sure windows is all up to date.

Have you tried going into your video card settings and turning it down? i know sometimes when you install new hardware your games will automatically go to ultra settings (it did that on my HD 7770 build) and it gets super laggy after a little gaming. Also, are you using the stock cooler? Try using some canned air or compressed air to clean out anything with a fan on it. Sometimes you get alot of lag but your card runs cool too. Just try cleaning your components and amping down your filtering settings and what-not. Hope this helped.

@ maestro0428: I've let AMD check my driver (http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool)

It said I have the latest driver installed. Also windows is up to date.

@AMDAlexK: what do you mean by turning it down? I'm using a stock cooler on my graphic card yes, I had no problems with it in my previous rig. I could try to clean out the dust in the cooler but idk if it it's really the cause of my problem.

You have the latest drivers, but there may have been an installation issue of some sort. Remove and resinstall. Also, AMD recently came out with new drivers. I assume you updated and wonder if you shouldn't back track.

I have installed a better virus scanner (Sophos) and it detected adaware. Boo to windows defender..

Also installed drivers from the MSI site instead of AMD itself. Lag seems gone. Thanks for the comments.
