i would like to upgrade to a 290x (specifically http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) in the near future and i need to know if my power supply can handle it and if there will be bottlenecks
My stats are:
AMD fx 8120 @ 4.1 GHz Processor
ASUS m5a99fx pro r2.0 Motherboard
12 Gb of DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD 7750 1Gb (what i will be upgrading from)
Corsair CX600 Power Supply
Windows 7 64 bit

Hi there, and your motherboard has a fast PCI-E bus. So on the mobo, your GPU won't have a bottleneck through the bus.

And your CX Power Supply should be perfectly fine to power that card. Just checked what power your PSU can put through the Rails and under load, you'll be able to power it just fine.

The 8120 is a bit of a bottleneck for some games, but other than that. Solid and fine to upgrade too

The R9-290X is a relatively power hungry card. 600W will probably do it, but this shart suggests 650w:
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

Past that, I might suggest one of the newly announced GTX980 or GTX970 cards would be a better buy.
The GTX980 outperforms the R9-290 at a similar price.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
The GTX970 would be still be a massive jump in capability for much less.

Either card will run on a 500w psu.

and... the R9 290X cards seem to have satisfaction issues.
The card you linked has 20% negative(0 or 1 egg) reviews.

The new nvidia cards are in demand, so you may have to wait or shop to find one.
