I just rebuilt my PC after about a year. Everything seems to be working fine, except BOTH fans on my XFX DD 7870 GPU are not spinning. I've searched the past couple days trying to solve this issue, but can't seem to find anything.

The card is being recognized, but is not being cooled. I set the fans to 100% manually in CCC and still nothing. I'm thinking that the fans went out, so my question is; would it be better to get an aftermarket cooler, or just get a whole new card?

If anyone has any input, or a solution, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Contact XFX support directly, they're really good for warranty stuff. It's worth a shot to see what they can do to help, if anything.

Okay thank you. I was thinking of doing that, but figured it wouldn't still be under warranty. I purchased the card in early 2013, but have only used it for about 6 months of that time.

Yes, you would still be covered. Its probably a loose fan power cable, double check to see if its damaged or loose. We can send a free replacement fan if its actually a set of bad fans, however, if both fans are bad, i would guess the fan controller went out.

Please create a ticket at xfxsupport.com. Thank you

oh awesome! Thank you so much for the help. I will fill out a ticket right now.

Yeah, it must be the fan control, because I imagine it unlikely that both fans would go out at the same time.
