Hi
I have bt infinity with home hub 3.0. For the last 8 days the connection keeps dropping multiple times throughout the day, often only for a few minutes, sometimes for 10 to 15 minutes. It drops both from wireless and hardwired connections, but no error lights all lights remain on and blue.
I contacted technical support and they checked the line then states there is a fault with my home hub.
They stated I can get a free Home Hub 3.0 replacement or pay to upgrade to home hub 4 (£35) or home hub 5 (£52).
Typically I have:-
one desktop PC hard wired to router downloading and browsing the internet,
one desktop PC wirelessly playing games online on steam,
the xbox wirelessly playing online,
a laptop wirelessly browsing internet, streaming youtube,
then sometimes additionally have another laptop, one android tablet, one ipad, and 3 smartphones that could also be wirelessly connecting. And its not unusual to have everything up and running at once
Given my usage what would you suggest? Another HH3 or upgrading to either 4 or 5? Plus I saw 2 posts stating Home Hub 5.0 has latency problems preventing online gaming (was specifically re Diablo 3 which I don't play though)
BT's rep claimed Home Hub 5 is especially made for BT infinity, and makes a massive improvement on the wireless speeds and capabilities. Although the wireless performance of the home hub 3 seems to equal its wired performance any way.
Or should I try something else? (PS why is this post central and not aligned down the left side? weird.. I cant see how to fix this)
