To start, here is my build:

Monitor ASUS PB Series PB278Q 27" 5ms (GTG)
Video Card SAPPHIRE TRI-X OC 100361-2SR Radeon R9 290X 4GB 512-Bit
Video Card SAPPHIRE TRI-X OC 100361-2SR Radeon R9 290X 4GB 512-Bit
Processor Intel Core i7-4790K Haswell Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150
Power Supply Corsair RM 1000W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular
Case Fractal Design Define R4 Blackout
CPU Cooler CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i
Memory Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Motherboard ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 LGA
Storage Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F256GBLX 2.5" 256GB

I have had a fully functional computer for about 2 weeks now, no issues whatsoever. Then two nights ago I saw that there was a driver update from AMD, so I figured it would be worth updating. After the update was completed, I restart the computer. On startup only one of my graphics cards was recognized in the device manager. I restart the computer again, and then there was no display signal at all from my discrete graphics card. I switch to onboard graphics and neither discrete card is recognized. I completely uninstall the AMD drivers from my computer, and now one of my graphics cards is detected by device manager and can display to my monitor, while the other card is no longer detected. I have tried both cards inside the computer in the same PCIe slot using the same power cables by itself, and one graphics card displays to my monitor and is detected by device manager, while one is not detected and not displaying.

Is my graphics card dead? I feel like this should not be the case since it was a software udpate, but it seems like the graphics card is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can you try the previous drivers that you were using?

I have now rolled back to the drivers that were on my computer (AMD CCC v14.4), and the graphics card is still not recognized. What else can I try to fix it or confirm that the graphics card is dead?

I'm guessing you have crossfire? Try removing the second card from the slot and then reinstalling all your drivers. Sometimes crossfire is the reason why things won't work since with ULPS, AMD tends to disable the secondary card in idle. Perhaps Catalyst is doing something funny in recognizing the video output and is causing a loss of display or unresponsiveness.
