I will likely want to build a new system around December for about $800 (not including monitors - I will reuse the two that I already have). I'm not interested in overclocking, so I'm curious what CPU will provide the best "bang for the buck." I can probably wait until January, if there's predictions of a release of new CPUs that will provide better value.
Many of the building guides recommend CPUs for use in overclocked systems, but I would rather not do that.
I do some light gaming (Starcraft II). I also prefer mirrored disks, so the CPU should be compatible with a motherboard capable of RAID 1.
I'm also posting a motherboard-related question on the motherboard forum because I'm hoping to find a motherboard that can at least read the RAID1 disks currently used with my GA-P35-DS3R motherboard that has ICH9R.
Thanks in advance.
