A larger TV will be better for movies and certain kind of games where reaction isn't as important, if you are sitting close to it, a smaller TV will usually work better for shooters. I personally am a huge fan of Plasma TVs, unfortunately Panasonic stopped making them, but here is a nice samsung for $550 :

1080p is the absolute max an xbox can run games at so anything above that is unnecessary and below that you won't get the full potential from your console. hope this helps
