Wondering if it's worth it to upgrade from a GTX 760 4GB to a 970. I was just offered $275 for the card and a new 970 would be about $220 more after taxes. Worth it?

Running a 1440p monitor, but also dual booting OSx Yosemite with Windows and slightly concerned about support for maxwell

Well, I would say it is definitly worth it then :p

Don't know much about its performance on different games but the 760 sc 2gb runs GTA V better than the 970 ssc 4 gb. Super Super Clocked my ass. I know because I recently upgraded and I am very disappointed. I feel like I flushed $200 down the drain and being disabled? That really bothers me

Why reply on a thread that's almost 4 years old, when you clearly are having issues with your GTX 970....it's way better than a 760, and if it's not running right, start a new thread and ask for help.

Did you remove the old drivers and install the correct new drivers?

Yes, I've even reinstalled Windows 7 seeing that I've seen in a forum that helps. Started a new game of GTA V and it was running fine I believe but as soon as I loaded my old save, it started slowing down again big time. Just to give you an example, even with lowered graphics settings it gets down to 12 fps in the in-game's benchmark and I already have started a new thread but didn't get much help. I upgraded to get better graphics but I have to lower the settings for it to run the same speed on a better card? Doesn't make any damn sense

My recent thread - Why does GTA V run extremely slower on the GTX 970 SSC 4 GB and so much faster on the GTX 760 SC 2 GB? http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3717141/gta-run-extremely-slower-gtx-970-ssc-faster-gtx-760.html
