Hi,

I cleared my CMOS using the button on the back of the mobo after I changed my RAM frequency, which caused my computer to go into a boot cycle. Now, I have all of my fans, GPU LED, PSU etc working but I have no display, Dr Debug doesn't seem to work and my computer just stays powered on doing nothing.

My memory is easily capable of OCing to 2133 so it hasn't broke, either. Does clearing the CMOS reset the RAM freq? Is it possible to brick my motherboard like this?

Thanks.

When you reset your BIOS, you reset (typically) to its default "out of the box" configuration. Does your system also have an integrated video controller? If so, it may now be the default video controller. Try connecting your display to the on-board video to see if it is the default. If so, change in your BIOS and save and then switch back to your stand alone video adapter.

Hello... Did you remove your battery Too? as this is required. Yes, the default programing will be restored.
Your memory may be ready to go 2133... But are the other components on your MB and CPU able to do this. The Speed and Frequency of Digital communication, must be syncronized and maintained between all your hardware... in other words don't keep trying to force a Number into your MB that will not Sync well with your other parts, if my computer Turns on day after day, that is all that is important to me.
Your memory is a just a slave to your memory controller, it is not the driving force that dictates the communication mode and speed.

I have the HDMI cable going through the motherboard's port. My keyboard is dead, too.

I didn't remove anything from the motherboard, just pressed the switch. I'll go and remove the battery now.

When all fails read the directions. Your motherboad should have came with a manual on the correct cmos reset procedure.

OK. I used the jumper as specified in the manual to get the motherboard to show signs of life. Dr Debug showed 0x64 and I used the mobo reset switch to get it to post again and now everything's fine. I guess I was using the clear CMOS switch incorrectly.

Thanks everyone!

Update: Computer just completed switched off randomly and now I'm in the same circumstances as before. I had it running for hours before I had any issues. Should I look at maybe RMAing the board or could this still be the BIOS?
