I would go for gigabyte just because the 970 overclocks well and is low temp. Many reviews on the 970. But havent seen the 980 yet on reviews :(

Actually the EVGA 980 ACX 2.0 does not suffer from the same problems as the 970, on the other hand MSI Twin Frozr V has some serious problem with its fans not spinning making the card spike up to 90C. In some cases, not every MSI twin Frozr V card has this problem while every EVGA 970 do have a design flaw, but not the 980 as you can see below.

Ignore people that hate on EVGA'S fans. they work very well. There's a reason that they are rated #1 for Nvidia video cards. Their drivers and customer service is great. Top of the line overclocking too! Again, there's a reason K|NGP|N uses EVGA cards.

totally true, EVGA even offered to replace a card that wasn't even theirs once haha! I'm waiting for the Hydro Copper GTX90 which is a custom liquid cooling loop card ONLY but it's looking like a beast!

EVGAs fans are great. I OC my 980 Classified to 1585 and never hit 70 in the most intensive games.
