Asrock Z77, 3770k, Overclock Settings not saving?

I'm encountering a problem I cannot seem to solve. I went through some guides to set up some overclock settings for my Asrock Extreme6 z77, however, upon selecting the Save and Exit option it appears the settings are not going into affect. I've tried clearing CMOS with the button the back of the motherboard but this did not solve the issue.

It still has my presets saved in the Overclock menu, and the settings are still selected in the BIOS, but the changes don't seem to be taking effect. I also tried the Auto OC option just to see if it would work, none of the settings appear to be adjusting my clock speed based on Core Temp and CPU-Z although it is selecting the options within the BIOS. My 3770k is just sticking at 3.50Mhz and this is also reflected in the text on the BIOS menu. There is likely something large I am missing here...

Thanks!

Strange. I have used ASRock boards for years and love their BIoS/efi. This may seem silly, but you are pressing F10 to save all of the new settings right. I will dig into my z77 bios and see what I can find out and get back to ya.

Depends on what you changed.

I have an i5-2500K and overclocked it by raising the max turbo multiplier. If you don't have something that reads the actual frequency (Intel has a widget for it, CPUID will show actual, or other app) it may still show up in the control panel/system or elsewhere as being an i5-3770K at 3.5GHz (because that's what it is - at stock).

very odd, it seems to be working now. Though the bios doesn't appear to display it, Core Temp is now reading this:

It wasn't doing it before, so I'm not exactly sure what I did differently.

Looks like it took that time! You can use cpuz to check speeds too.
