So Ive recently bought the acer predator g3610 dirt cheap from a friend, and even though I knew I was a pretty outdated PC i decided that it was a good deal (I payed 2000 dkk (aprox 340 usd) for it, even got a Razer arcTosa included :D ).

The specs are Ram: 8 GB
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2300 CPU @ 2.80GHz
System: 64-bit operativsystem
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Hard drive: 1000 GB

I want to upgrade some of the parts, as I want to be able to play some next gen games such as BF4 hardline, Watchdogs and Far cry 4 on it. What parts would you guys recommend, and would I need to buy a new motherboard and processer to play those high end games, would the i5 bottleneck a new GPU and Power supply?

Nah the 2300 is still an okay CPU. Any i5 from Sandy Bridge and up is still great for games.

For a balanced system I'd recommend a GTX 970 (currently the new default gaming GPU for the dollar), and an EVGA Supernova NEX 650 G (good sale on newegg right now for a solid unit).

You should also consider buying an SSD. They offer a great speed increase over hard drives. Currently the Crucial M500 (128GB and 250GB versions) is the best drive for the money with good speeds to boot.

Would I have enough space for the GTX 970, Ive heard it's a pretty big card. And would I have enough space for the EVGA NEX 650 G? (Im a noob when it comes to upgrading).

Yes you would have enough space for both components. The 970 is a standard 9-10 inches and since your computer is recent it was most likely built to ATX standards so the PSU would fit as well.
