Recently tried to re-install windows on a Sony VAIO model: VPCEB11FM. Trying to install off an optical drive returned these issues:

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information.

I suspect it's a hard drive driver issue, however i'm unable to find drivers for the Samsung HM32HI. I was wondering if anyone knows a method to cram windows down the throat of this hard drive? I was thinking about perhaps installing a flavor of linux to load drivers, if I can find them.

Thanks!

Its not a driver issue .
There is no OS , so there can be no driver involved .

You have the dvd drive set as first boot device and windows starts from the optical disk?

If thats the case the problem could be the hard drive is faulty
