What exactly is your budget, target resolution, FPS and game settings? Because all of these components are way way backdated. May be you can run latest games at very low settings in 1366x768 resolution.
Please update your question with above mentioned info and then I can help you regarding your specs.

Well i dont "really" have a budget but nothing to crazy. Lets say about £500?

I would like to play at 1080p single monitor only at 60fps, high would be good enough for me because i cant really see a diffrence with ultra because i am not that in to games to notice anti aliasing and all that fancy mumbo jumbo haha.

Haha.... Noting is enough when you build a high end PC. Ok first of all if you want to build a budget gaming pc then it would be better to go with APU build rather than Intel because you can run latest games at low res low setting with out a gpu in a AMD APU. You can check few reviews on APU specially A10 7850k:

Now if you have a affinity towards intel nvidia then its a whole new story. As you have asked, I would recommend at least i3 or i5 couple with at least gtx 750ti. It will not let you down for next 2 years at least for low res game play. Just check in http://pcpartpicker.com and build your own and let me know how it is going. O don't stick with ddr2, they are obsolete now a days when ddr4 is just hit the market.
