Hi,
I'm shopping for something help out with smokers in my apartment. I've been having trouble finding one. I keep getting some sort of air purifier in the results, with mixed reviews on cigarette smoke.
I'm really not entirely sure what you are supposed to call these things.
We have 2 people who smoke. They usually smoke at the kitchen table, so I was thinking about getting one to place on the corner of the table. Or if there is some sort of cool design that rotates, we could keep in near the center. This way, I guess it can suck up the smoke and purify the air around us.
- so basically, a small one that I can put on a corner or center of a table.
- Or a tall one, where I can put in a corner of a room, but the suction will have to be pretty good I would think since it will be farther from the smoke.
I don't mind spending good money on one if it means less filter changes. I found some cheap air purifiers that could capture smoke, however, from reviews, it looks like the filters are expensive and need to be changed very often.
If I can't buy one online for a good price, I might go to Bed Bath and Beyond and buy one with a 20% off coupon.
Winter is coming. And keeping the windows open to get rid of the smoke and having the heat running is a money killer.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I never bought one of these, and the results I have been getting haven't been promising.

I've had one just like this. It worked for pulling smoke and dust out of the air, these types are a little noisy but there are no filters to replace only water. You can even add mint or flavors to avoid it smelling like an old ashtray or change the water daily.

As far as air purifiers are concerned you have lot of options in the market. I just shifted to LA recently and noticed air purifiers in most of the homes. Must be due to the high levels of pollution in LA. To be honest these purifiers are overpriced, consume a considerable amount of electricity and you have to replace the filters that come with them periodically. Just couple of months ago I got mine from http://go-clair.com/collections/all (BF-2025 in mint) after a friend recommended it to me. Based on what you wrote this should fit your bill . I particularly liked the design and ease of use. I guess it’s reasonable priced as well.

I think it can be as effective as these fancy looking Clair air purifiers but I must admit they look really cute though.
