Hi,

I'm shopping for something help out with smokers in my apartment. I've been having trouble finding one. I keep getting some sort of air purifier in the results, with mixed reviews on cigarette smoke.

I'm really not entirely sure what you are supposed to call these things. :)

We have 2 people who smoke. They usually smoke at the kitchen table, so I was thinking about getting one to place on the corner of the table. Or if there is some sort of cool design that rotates, we could keep in near the center. This way, I guess it can suck up the smoke and purify the air around us.
- so basically, a small one that I can put on a corner or center of a table.
- Or a tall one, where I can put in a corner of a room, but the suction will have to be pretty good I would think since it will be farther from the smoke.

I don't mind spending good money on one if it means less filter changes. I found some cheap air purifiers that could capture smoke, however, from reviews, it looks like the filters are expensive and need to be changed very often.

If I can't buy one online for a good price, I might go to Bed Bath and Beyond and buy one with a 20% off coupon.

Winter is coming. And keeping the windows open to get rid of the smoke and having the heat running is a money killer.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I never bought one of these, and the results I have been getting haven't been promising.

The clair purifiers seem legit. I picked up the td1866 a lil over am month ago and it works better than my blueair purifier that I paid 650 for in 2010 which is saying a lot. There is no chemical smell which is a huge plus. I can't stand the paint smell.

The fan seems a bit weak but i think the e2f filter doesnt require a strong fan unlike HEPA filters. I just leave mine on all day as it says to and so far theres no dust in my room.

Easy way to check is turn off the lights and shine a flashlight. If theres a lot of dust in the room, you'll see particles above the flashlight lens.

As far as air purifiers are concerned you have lot of options in the market. I just shifted to LA recently and noticed air purifiers in most of the homes. Must be due to the high levels of pollution in LA. To be honest these purifiers are overpriced, consume a considerable amount of electricity and you have to replace the filters that come with them periodically. Just couple of months ago I got mine from http://go-clair.com/collections/all (BF-2025 in mint) after a friend recommended it to me. Based on what you wrote this should fit your bill . I particularly liked the design and ease of use. I guess it’s reasonable priced as well.

Dude I use an ionic air purifier which costs just $80.I bought mine from Walmart. I think it can be as effective as these fancy looking Clair air purifiers but I must admit they look really cute though.

You have no idea how useless those ionic air purifiers can be http://www.latimes.com/health/la-he-skeptic21apr21-story.html . Check out this article in LA times . It explains how it can do more harm than good . They do nothing to actually eliminate dust. Its as good as a mere accessory . I just didn't recommend Clair air purifiers because they look cute ..Its the e2f technology which actually caught my eye . We underestimate the harm that poor indoor air quality can do but trust me investing in a good air purifier can make that much of a difference .

Wow! What are the chances! I've actually been having a similar problem myself, except for me, cigarette smoke from my neighbor's room next door likes to blow into my room, so I've been doing some research myself on air purifiers. I am going to have to enable email notifications on this thread.....

In any case, I looked into the clair air purifiers suggested in this thread, and it seems pretty good. The only thing I am concerned about, however, is the price, as it seems a bit expensive. I will have think about it some more, unless there's some kind of sale going on with it during Black Friday or Cyber Monday or something (only a month away!).

I just got an update on their FB page regarding a fall season promotion they are having . You can avail a discount of $40 using the coupon code FALLSEASONPROMO. $159.99 is quite cheap considering the purifiers have the latest technology which can even capture even influenza causing virus in the range of 0.08 microns which cannot be captured by regular HEPA purifiers .I got this one in mint .

Well speak of the devil. Hmm.. this actually makes it look like a pretty decent offer. I'll probably have to do a bit more research before making a final decision (although I will likely end up just getting it due to my impulsive buying nature :( ). Do you know if this coupon has an expiration date?

Since these things are kind of expensive, I went the cheapo route. I just bought a fan and taped an air filter to it. Look it up on YouTube. It's pretty good for 20-30 dollars.

Well I'm not sure about it . I think its only till this month end .I think its a good deal considering it has the latest technology in air purifiers. Unlike HEPA filters which is limited to capturing particulates upto 0.3 microns these purifiers can help capture flu virus which is less than 0.1 micron . This ensures that your home is both dust and disease free You can read more about the e2f filter here http:// .I think investing in good health is more important than anything else and if technology can help us with it then why not ?

I know the $20 air filter method but to be honest for effectively removing dust, virus and other impurities this $20 purifier wouldn't suffice . Check this you tube link you'll know what I'm referring to http://

I ordered mine using the Facebook coupon code but I guess they are having a Black Friday sale for a limited time on their website where they have further slashed the price. (I found the same Clair purifier on Amazon for $219 whereas here its just $159.99 which includes free shipping as well ) This seems like an apt time to get hold of one of these air purifiers .

The one I ordered is BF2025 series color in Tangerine color .

Here is the link to the website is http://go-clair.com/

I was looking online for air purifiers and came across this post. Just logged in using my long forgotten id on this forum.

I am thinking if these Clair air purifiers are available in Indonesia ? I like how it looks especially the design. Here not many people use air purifiers and the showroom prices are very high. I am looking for a small one similar to what you are using which is good to alleviate asthma symptoms.
