I'm in the midst of my first build and I'm trying to decide whether to buy an i5-4690K or the non-k i5-4690. The non-k is rated at 3.9 GHz, the k at 3.5GHz. I don't have any experience with overclocking, but if it meant getting significantly improved performance out of the 4690k, I'd be willing to research/figure it out. That in mind, any advice on which would be the better buy would be appreciated.

Whichever I end up getting will be paired with an EVGA gtx 970 gpu.

Thanks!

Neitehr will bottleneck a 970, but then again, you won't see much of a fps difference between the 2, maybe 1-3fps more on the k model, and overcloicking won't add much more fps, so if you can afford it a 4690k won't hurt, better to have the option to oc than to not have it at all, but if you're on a strict budget a 4690 won't offer any less performance
