put the thermal paste on your heatsink only. When you press the pieces together the paste will spread itself.

okay then can i put a dot on my heatsink as well because my instructions say to?

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=blacktwister&espv=2&b...

them heatpipes underneath.

NO just a dot in middle of CPU will do the job

Honestly, it varies from thermal paste to thermal paste. Some solutions work better with the pea size amount, and others work well with a line going between the dyes.

I always spread thermal paste with card I get it together with Akasa thermal paste! I stop 3 mm before the end of CPU! When I buy new CPU on the old CPU was thermal paste almost to the end of CPU.

Works perfect every time idle temp. 28°C max temp. 55°C in games max 50°C (average: 45-50°C). I only trust my eye :)

wow nice I have to reinstall my heatsink and it isn't placed properly
an d on games im getting 60 up to 90 degrees, especially on arma 3 its constantly like 80-90 degrees
I hope once I installed it correctly and put artic thermal compound it will perform better
with my intel core i7 4970k.

my heatink is an enermax t40 blacktwister.

I buy this for 45$ and works perfect 3 years :)  I hate LEDs in my chassis because is always ON 24/7 / 365 days :)

" isn't placed properly" I can not even screwed my Cooler if is not properly on CPU...
