need help finding laptop motherboards

ok guys as title says I have two older laptops that my tech said needed motherboards. I would like to replace the motherboards myself since it appears I will only need to swap boards.

I guess my question is, when i look i find multiple boards. So how would i find out what motherboard i need to purchase? Do I search by model # or is there something on the motherboard I should be looking for.

I have the following laptops:
Asus- k52f
HP Pavilion dv4

the question answered itself.. you have to search for a asus k52f motherboard and a hp pavillion dv4 motherboard.. when searching for board all you need to know is the model of the one you have and the series its from ..eg aspire ,pavillion ,dimension and so on. you can get a motherboard off ebay or amazon.. hope i helped you
