I was recommended the Asrock 990fx Extreme3 ( http:// ) by a friend, but i wasn't too sure if that would've been good so i asked around on the forum and someone responded and found the ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ( http:// ) I know literally NOTHING about all the information that it gives on the specs of the motherboards, i know how to put it all together but i have no clue if its good or not. Thanks for the help in advance. =) (by the way, this will be used for a gaming computer)
The ASUS says it is a SATA 6Gb/s does that mean that it is SATA lll because it's "6Gb/s" or is it just a SATA 1? (I told you i know nothing)

ASRock and Asus are fairly similar in quality IMO. I'd be more a little more confident in the Asus mobo if considering overclocking but as far as your question
When referring to SATA speeds, marketing often uses SATA 6Gb/s for SATA III (it is SATA III) to avoid the confusion of SATA II's speed being 3Gb, it's simply a clarification of which it is (marketing wants you to know "It's the fastest one")
