Kernel-Power error, but no symptoms?

Hi all - So my PC seems to be getting Kernel-Power errors in my event log for zero reason. It has zero symptoms. As in, no freezes or unexpected shutdowns as the error message infers.

I've noticed the following:

Kernel-Power events (obviously) show up after I boot my PC up the next day, followed by an event saying my shut down the previous night was unexpected, despite me shutting down normally (that being, going to the metro window and using the shut down button. I'm not kicking it to turn it off or anything dodgy.)

The "Unexpected" shut downs are ALWAYS when I've shut the PC down. It's never just turned off on its own, or BSOD'd, or anything else. What's going on? Is my PC just failing to register it shut down somehow? I've read solutions which basically say turn off Windows Fast Startup, but I'd like to get more opinions on what it could be.

Thanks.

It was exactly the same case with me. No harm caused, just bugging me in the head thinking that somethings not right! :bounce:

The AMD theory may not be true. It is just something I observed.

I think its something to do with Windows 8.1, really don't know. Well, I guess we can wait and watch what Win 10 has to offer :D

I used to have a couple on my old system (first rig i built, and that time they actually DID shut the PC down) - That was a system with an i7 4770, just FYI

The specs of THIS PC are:

Asus Z97-A
i7 4790
GTX 770
8GB DDR3
650w 80+ GOLD Corsair (can't remember the exact model)

Nothing too exotic, but yeah not AMD :(

I would downgrade, but at the moment these errors aren't causing any harm, not that I can see anyway - It's literally only worried me because I thought to look in the event log. Wish I didn't now! haha

EDIT: Also using a 1tb Seagate SSHD
