I'm thinking about upgrading my pc and was wondering if the parts I have picked out are compatible.

ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Quad-Core A10-Series APU A10-6790K with Radeon HD 8670D

RADEON HD 7770 FleX - GHz Edition

If these parts are compatible , how much wattage would I need to power them? If not, could you suggest any other parts?

Thank for your time.

Nope you need a FM2 motherboard for that processor. I think maybe a 500W would be fine.

That won't work, you'll need an FM2 or FM2+ motherboard for the AMD APU. Something like this should work with the HD7770
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD A10-6790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($129.96 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Asus A88X-PLUS ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($84.39 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Patriot Viper 3 Low Profile Blue 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($67.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $282.34

I added ram since I do not know if you currently have DDR3 ram.
A quality 500W PSU should easily power that, I'd suggest these PSU's, in order
SeaSonic M12II 520W ~$75
SeaSonic S12II 520W ~65
Corsair CX500M 500W ~$60

The processor is a newer design and faster than the A10. Its cheaper because it does not have graphics built in to it , and since you are not using that when you fit the graphics card its not worth paying for

The Asus board you mention is for AMD FX processors . That board and an FX 6300 game really well with even top end graphics cards .
Depends on your budget really

Thank you, I already have DDR3 ram. This was very helpful.

Seasonic M12 is a very good power supply. I would definitely go with that over the CX Corsair
