I just built this computer for a friend who was on a very tight budget but still wanted to play games.
I had $450 to work with and I even offered to pay for the tax. I did some minor spray-painting to give it the Darth Vader black/red theme look.

Any comments or tips on how I can improve on my next build or what parts I should have bought?

Specifications:

  • AMD FX4300 Quadcore @4.0GHz
    MSI R9 270X 2GB
    Gigabyte GA-78LMT AM3+ AMD 760G
    2x 4GB G.Skill Ram
    1 TB Western Digital Blue
    Raidmax Hybrid 730W Semi-Module
    Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Case
    2x Red LED Fans
1x 6 WHITE LED Light strip

Damn thats a really good build! You could've went with the G3258/i3 for a better upgrade path and maybe a better PSU like a Sesonic or even an XFX 550 which you could get at $30 sometimes but damn $450? My build cost me $900 and it only has an R9 270 and an 8320 :p

Who knows. Maybe he'll get lucky and when it goes it wont take the rest of the components with it.
