Does Intel check to make sure that the CPU you bought matches the CPU (same model) you send in for warranty ('cause every CPU has a serial number or code sticker attached to it)? In other words, will Intel know that the CPU you send in is not yours but your friends?

How about MSI when it comes to motherboard?

Is it really? It is the same item, same model, virtually identical. He bought it on Newegg. I bought it on Amazon. I was only thinking of doing it because I am more comfortable using my OWN CPU, the one I that I bought. "OCD" people will understand

So if the one you bought works, why are you contemplating sending it back?
If the one you bought does not work, then you send it back and get a new one.

I'm not seeing the situation here.
