Alright guys, I need a remedy to this problem. so recently i replaced a faulty Hard drive and I bought a WD BLACK 1TB when ever i would play a game like path of exile and shadow run they both freeze and then unfreezes.I also tried games such as Arma 3 and 7 days to die and they have the same problem. I don't understand this because I installed windows 7 64 bit all new and fresh. I installed all my drivers and they're all up to date.

Any help or leads will be much appreciated =)

In my opinion at this point i would say try reinstalling windows if the issue continues you will be looking at a possible hardware failure some where, would start with trying to swap out parts if possible to see if you can pin point the failure.

Make sure your Windows Experience Rating is up to date since you just re-installed windows ( start - right click computer - properties - windows experience)

test that out.

if it continues to happen i would say think about re-installing the video drivers, i know they are freshly installed but doesn't eliminate that they could of gotten corrupt.

i would say use driver sweeper to completely uninstall the driver.

Direct download link to Driver sweeper:
http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/driver-sweeper-download,4.html

Will require for you to be in safe mode when you run this tool.

once you are in safe mode run driver sweeper and uninstall the video drivers. in this case AMD.

reboot back to normal mode and re-install the video drivers.

Hope this helps!

It most like the MB has the VRM overheating/overloading problem. The 965 has 125W TDP, that is the highest limit for the BIOSTAR A960D+. You can see what is the VRMs ( only 4 of them, square labeled 1R0 and R60) http://www.biostar-usa.com/upload/Motherboard/b20121101_5.jpg
If the Mb has lower number VRMs and you use it with the high TDP cpu, and the PC will freeze or shut down because the feature is that try to protect the MB or VRMs. And you hard to find the software to monitor those temp, but you can use Infrared Thermometer to check the temp.

I tried both things you suggested but it didn't work, your answers were really good i actually thought it would fix it too since i hadn't tried that. do you got anymore possible solutions?

Can try using Process Explore to see if any thing stands out when the game is freezing and unfreezing. Process explore is like task manager but will show more details about what is running.

Process explorer link:

If nothing stands out i would say you can try uninstalling the driver again using driver sweeper, then try playing a game with just the generic driver windows gives the graphics card to test it out to see if it could be something with that version of the driver you are using.
