I'm looking for a resource place/equipment for copying an old 2120 tape formatted to QIC 40 standard(1/4" cartridge type), to whatever format I could use. SCSI connection? Ditto drive? certain tape drive? I've heard the specific type needed might vary per what computer it was recorded on, which I don't know, it was given to us 1996. Have struck out so far with all the places I've called, said it will be very difficult to find. . .I just have ONE small tape probably less than 20 min long that I'm interested in copying. I'm not super tech oriented so may need some additional explanation to understand the information. . . .??? Thanks for any help, Pam

I don't know the solution, but I'm interested in what 18 year old data is that critical, and does not exist elsewhere.

Your best bet would be a photography store - they should be able to convert it to a DVD for you.

This doesn't sound like a video.
QIC 40 = tape backup.

I thought it might be video because of his statement "I just have ONE small tape probably less than 20 min long that I'm interested in copying." Never heard of a backup tape measured in how many minutes long it is.....but I could be wrong. :-)
