*all installed drivers/monitor/os system at bottom. if need other info let me know*
Hello, i recently built my 1st pc but ive come across a problem that i dont know how to deal with, my computer doesnt play sound.
ive downloaded all the sound drivers that was on my "MSI Drivers & Software Setup" but as far as i can tell they did nothing. When i play a video w/ headphone or speakers and go into the "control panel, hardware setup, manage audio devices " the software " Realtek Digital Output" shows sound is playing but the "Speakers" says "Not Plugged In".
I do not know if this is a monitor problem or software problem but if you need anymore info or need me to do something let me know. Also i am pretty knew to the computer world so if you need me to do something i might need instructions on hwo to do it.

OS - Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
Monitor - Asus VX228H
audio drivers installed - "Realtek HD Audio Drivers" "Sound Blaster Cinema"

-Thanks in advance (:

When you connect your speakers in the rear entrance it should pop up a windows saying that an audio device has just been plugged, it that same window it should let you to tell your pc that the device in question are speakers.

No message comes up when I plug something into the rear entrance and the built in speakers do not play sound either.

After doing some research I learned what the problem was, I was using a VGA cable and was thinking that it also delivered audio. I am now using an HDMI cable and everything is working perfectly so far. Thank you RaDiKaL_ for your help.
