Hello everyone.

My gaming PC is now going on a year old and I have come to the the predicament whether I should upgrade my EVGA GTX 670 (2GB) FTW, or wait for a later date. My card has run every game I have thrown at it except for a select few; such as Skyrim on Ultra with texture enhancing mods and the new Shadow of Mordor with high+ textures. Maybe I am just being picky, but I do like my games to be as pretty as possible. I was going to upgrade my Motherboard, CPU, RAM and SSDs in another year, would it be worth it to wait till then to change out my GPU? Or go ahead and buy a new one now? I was looking at getting a 970.

Thanks for any advice.

If you're looking at the 770 or 780, you should just get a 970 instead. However if you feel you need to upgrade, then you should. I can't tell you to upgrade or not since you say that your 670 does what you need it to do. If you upgrade in a year or so, prices will drop even more and new cards will come out. It all comes down to what you need. If you feel the need to upgrade, go ahead and get a 970 as it's probably one of the best price/performance cards out there right now.

While the GTX 970 would be a decent upgrade, if I were you I'd wait to see what 20nm variants they come out with next year.

It's not really worth it to upgrade from 670 to a 970.
As you can see here the performances are pretty close.

If you're going to upgrade, wait until you can get a 980, you'll see a huge difference.

Hey bud have a quick look here. I've not played with them myself but this seems to speak for itself.

Ah okay. Yeah I guess the 970 does out perform 670 by quite a bit. You can never go wrong with a 980 though ;D.
