Good idea? Bad Idea?

I already own the GTX 780 TI SC (Superclocked) and I'm going to be running SoM at 1440p (which supposedly requires 6GB VRAM @1280p). Unfortunately the SC is not available, but I can get my hands on a GTX 780 TI DC (Dual Classified). Both cards have ACX cooling.

This is my first time with SLI technology so please temporarily excuse my ignorance. From my understanding, both cards have the same size VRAM, same PCI bandwidth, same GPU, but differ slightly in clock/boost speed. Will they work? Is it worth it? Will they match at the lowest clock speed or sink to an even lower denominator? Can I overclock both to a matching speed?
