So i just bought an Asus r9 280x from a friend. Hooked it up in my system and on the first try the PC didn't boot i shut it down and started it up again and it worked just fine. Installed drivers, stress tested, played games all perfect. So i figured id to try to OC my CPU a little more, this is where problems like the first on started to accrue even more, hard to boot. I should mention that i mainly undervolt my CPU even when overclocking the FX 8120 seems to like that (or atleast did).
Anyway i got stuck on boot i couldn't get pass the fail boot ( mouse, keyboard, screen and HDD indicator not working). I put an older card in and it worked, i set BIOS back to default settings(lifted the voltage of the CPU up back to default) and went beck to putting my new r9 280x back in.
All booted up and BAM just pink/purple screen teared pixels no pictures. At this point i lived through a mini heart attack, took out the r9 and put it back in. And now everythings working except for my gutts, im too scared to even move the mouse..... What could be the main cause of this?

My PSU is Corsair VS 650W (this is my main concern)
Mobo : Asrock 970 extremee3
CPU: fx 8120
