So I just upgraded my gtx 770 from a Radeon HD 7950. I dropped 15 to 20 frames in all games when I did this. Is my rig bottlenecking it? And yes I have installed the driver correctly.

CPU: AMD 6350 Six core 3.9 GHz
RAM: g.skill rip jaws 2x4gb DDR3 1600
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43

Or could it be that my cpu just can't handle it?

Hello,

Some time ago I upgraded my HD 6950 to a GTX 770 running it on a Phenom II 955 BE @ 3.6 GHz and despite it not being the best CPU out there I saw a huge performance boost. You should have no reason to see a FPS drop.

I know you said you have installed your new GPU drivers but just to make sure everything from the old drivers is gone use this driver sweeper http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html to remove the AMD drivers and then download and install the latest from nVidia's website.

Does the old amd drivers mess with the nvida drives?

How are your CPU and GPU temperatures? You can download HWinfohttp://www.hwinfo.com/download.php and run it with a tick on Sensors Only. Then play a game for 10-15 minutes, minimize or exit the game and take a screenshot of the readings HWifno shows and post the screenshot if you can. I'm interested to see Min, Current and Max temps for the GPU and CPU.

Also what model is your PSU? Does it provide sufficient power to your system? Have you plugged both cables into the GPU? If I remember well it's 1x 6 pin and 1x 8 pin PCIe cables.

Have you underclocked your CPU by any chance?

What games do you play, at what settings, on what resolution and what average FPS do you get?
