Using a GTX and a Quadro for gaming and Video Editing, respectively?

Hi, I have a semi-related question. to this thread:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1893962/quadro-k4000-geforce-gtx-780-pair.html

It's not so much related that I was simply going to reply in it, and risk reviving a dead thread. So here goes.

Let's say you're not using your rig for 3D rendering, or 3D graphics work overall, but for pure video editing.
I'm currently making a build for a business computer.
It's supposed to be both my private and work computer.

Currently the build looks like this:
Processor: Intel Core i7-5960X Extreme Hasw-E - Box
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i Extreme Performance
Motherboard: ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4-2400 QC Red - 32GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro K4200 grafikkort
Harddisk 1: Samsung 840 Pro SSD - 512GB
Harddisk 2: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 - 3TB (x4 set up as a Raid 1/0)
RAID controller: Highpoint RocketRAID 640
Harddisk 3: Western Digital Green 3.5" HDD - 6TB
Cabinet: Corsair Obsidian 750D - Black
Power Supply: Corsair AX860i - 860W PSU
(included is naturally extra cooler fans, card reader, and disc reader.)

So my question is:
Should I include a GTX card for the purpose of playing video games privately?
I understand that in the thread you make mention of simply turning off the card.
But can you turn it off, do your editing work, then switch the cards on/off settings and simply start playing video games without an issue?

I've been looking at the GTX 900 series (Yes, I like the new shiny things!)

Or can I potentially leave them both running, and then just switch which card is being used for which task?
I seem to recall that Adobé (my preferred editing software) is incapable of utilizing multiple GPUs for its' rendering and work purposes making the GTX simply useless when it comes to that work.
And then when I am gaming, I can make it so that the game only runs using the GTX card.

Please note, that I am not talking about linking them together as SLI or anything of that sort. But simply for two completely seperate work tasks.

Also note of the screen setup, if it might conflict anything:
2 DisplayPort displays and 1 HDMI (I intend to get an HDMI to DVI adapter cable if I have to plug it into the Quadro)
All three plugged into the Quadro.

I hope it all makes sense and that you some of you might be able to help out.

Anyone got anything? Please?

I'll be ordering the parts next week, and I need an answer ASAP.
Currently I've added a EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0 - 4GB GDDR5 to the build.

But I am honestly unsure of how I can constantly shift the different cards from active to inactive depending on the different tasks. I'll continue scouring the web for answers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
