I have a Dell XPS studio 9100 and want to replace it for better gaming and most of all just better performance for my pc

Intel X58 Chipset default mobo
CPU:Core i7-930 2.8 GHz
Ram: 8GB RAM DDR3 speed1333 MHz
PSU wattage 525 W
Windows 7 64bit

If you are going for the 4th generation intel processors, you will need a new PSU, mobo, cpu and RAM (the old RAM will work - but it will run at a slower rate). You will probably need a good GPU as well. Your particular case is a non-standard motherboard size - which means you need to replace the case unless you want an exact Dell replacement (they are way over priced). The connectors for the case are also custom - which means it won't just plug in a new mobo....

So in reality, the slower RAM, the hard drive and the optical drive are the only salvageable parts. My suggestion is the same as popatim - either sell it or repurpose it, and build a new computer.
