You should save the previous BIos before flashing. Check around the net for the one for your card.

I'd be surprised if you had an actual BIOS issue.

The info in the BIOS is fairly basic. It may have a fan profile, and some other instructions on controlling the frequency etc but since your card isn't freezing up I'm not sure why you'd get frame drops as a result of a different BIOS.

*You can monitor your GPU frequency. The only reason you'd get massive frame drops would be if your GPU frequency was dropping significantly for some reason (or if the bottleneck is elsewhere like the CPU but then the graphics card would not be the problem).

So basically, if your GPU frequency is staying roughly at its maximum (say 1000MHz or whatever) then it's not the problem.

btw another question , i was able to get my gpu running at stable 1080 HZ on the core clock and 1400 HZ on the mem clock without increasing voltage , I only have power target maxed out , is it bad leaving at at those frequencies all the time ?

Yes and no. Technically it can wear out faster, but considering how often people change gpus, it probably doesn't matter. I have OC'd many gpus and never had one fail. That said, I don't really OC them anymore and just run faster cards at stock speeds. They are expensive, so be careful and take your time with your OCs.
