PC Mic buzzing with Asus Xonar Essence STX

I'm currently using an ATR-3350 with the 1/8" -> 1/4" adapter on the Line In port of my sound card and I'm getting a loud buzzing. When I hold the in-line battery+on/off switch metal case with my skin the buzzing is eliminated 100%. If I touch the battery itself after removing the top of the case, it gets much louder. I'm assuming this is something related to being improperly grounded? Unfortunately, none of the plugs in my apartment are grounded so the PC itself is not either. If I plug the 1/8" mic straight into the motherboard and use the built in audio, I have no buzzing but I DO have a light fuzzy static. It's a very different type of noise from the sound card. I would really just like to recreate the sound I get while holding the battery case without actually having to hold it 24/7.

The adapter that I'm using on the sound card came with the sound card. Is it possible that there is a better adapter out there that will fix my issue? If not, is there a better mic that I could get with native stereo 1/8" support that would sound good enough for livestreaming?

>Just tried disabling the onboard audio. Did not fix the buzzing.
