I'm not sure I've ever had these working properly. Ive just gotten a phone and a bluetooth headset that both support USB 3.0.

My note 3 phone when plugged into the usb 3.0 socket the transfer speeds seem very slow (just as slow as usb 2.o)

My other issue is with a USB 3.0 bluetooth dongle I got for my PC to use with my bluetooth headset. This works and connects, but often the audio will get out of sync and I cant move much more than 5-7 feet away from my computer without it cutting out.

Are these issues related?

What am I to do? Look for USB 3.0 drivers? I have an MSI board (listed below) but couldnt find the drivers on msi website. Any help would be appreciated.

Your phone won't go at usb3.0 speeds unless it also is a usb3.0 phone plus you're using a usb3.0 cable.

Your headset sounds like its out of range. It might be faulty or it just might have a flat battery. This is why most people prefer wired headsets.

Your problem may not be the USB connection.

1) You can try getting drivers and installing them. Get them from the motherboard site. Just Google the model you listed and find the support download link.

2) USB3 rarely works faster than USB2:
USB3 would only work faster if the device was both USB3 capable and also faster than 60MB/second which is very rare.

3) Your headphone issue may be a problem with the headphone.

*You should try another computer, or just use a USB2 connection instead. You would NOT benefit from USB3 speed anyway but at least you can rule out an issue with USB3 drivers not installed causing a problem.

USB3 drivers:
They don't appear to be required if you have Windows 8. They are not listed so likely included already with Windows 8. They do exist for Windows 7 for your motherboard.

Windows 7 64-bit drivers:http://ca.msi.com/support/mb/Z77MAG45.html#down-driver&Win7 64

BIOS update:
I doubt that would help, but if you don't have the latest version (1.B) then you might as well update.

I repeat that you can test these items on a DIFFERENT PC which will tell you where the issue is; you can use USB2 connectors instead on your PC but a completely different PC would be best in case it's a different issue on your PC. If they work the SAME on another PC then the issue is the products themselves. The transfer speed may just be a limit of your device, and the headphone issues may be a broken or simply crappy product.

Cheers.

My phone is the Note 3 which is USB 3.0 right?

The headset works fine when listening to podcasts/audio with my phone and has decent range.

The poor service seems to come only when using it with my new PC BT dongle. Im gonna try the drivers and see if that helps.
