So I've been playing some video games and on the web lately and have been noticing extremely low-quality internet speeds. So I took an internet speed test and got a pretty bad score on it or whatever. I took this test with a wireless card that I had plugged into my computer. So I decided to simply get an Ethernet cable and start to hook it up. Unfortunately, there was no socket for the Ethernet cable near my computer. Does anyone have any solutions besides bringing my router right next to my computer and hooking it up there? It would be much appreciated for any answers. Thank you, and goodbye.

How far away from the router is the computer? How good is the signal that you get?

Have you done the test on other computers?

You need to start to rule things out, first test with a cable like you wanted to, just get a longer cable if yours can't reach or do a test with another computer near the router if you have a second one. You need to find out if the issue is with the ISP, modem, router, distance and wireless issue or the computer. To do that you need to start at the nearest connection point which is the modem and router and work back from there.

You could try a set of powerline network adapters like these. You plug an ethernet cable into your pc and one of these adapters. You plug the other one in near the router with an ethernet cable to the router. The power lines in the house complete the network circuit. They are more consistent than wireless but DON'T believe the 500Mbit. You will probably get around 100Mbit real throughput....
