My 1Tb external hard drive, which worked a few weeks ago, is no longer showing up in my computer or in computer manager>device Manager. I have files that I would like from it (not too important that if I lost it it wouldn't ruin me, but still would like them back). Is there anyway to fix this or recover the data? I will provide more info if you all need it. Oh yeah Forgot to say that the light on the case comes on and I can physically feel and hear the discs inside spinning the hdd.

Solution
Opening the drive most probably will void the warranty. Anyway, there are quite a lot of videos on youtube of how to open this exact model as well as many others.

Cheers,

Thats exactly why I dont buy external hdd anymore. Instead, i buy an internal hdd, then also buy an enclosure. Working at my previous job, it was one of the most common reasons for external hdd failure, manufacturers tend to make those connectors very cheaply. I would recommend the same, cost ends up being either slightly less or similar.
