My 1Tb external hard drive, which worked a few weeks ago, is no longer showing up in my computer or in computer manager>device Manager. I have files that I would like from it (not too important that if I lost it it wouldn't ruin me, but still would like them back). Is there anyway to fix this or recover the data? I will provide more info if you all need it. Oh yeah Forgot to say that the light on the case comes on and I can physically feel and hear the discs inside spinning the hdd.

Hi there Butrz,

I would agree with cpatel1987 and say that is a good idea to start with something simple like using another USB cable or trying the device into another port. Is the drive recognized in Disk Management?

Hope this will help,

Yea I'm pretty sure that the USB connector is broken, but how do I open the hdd to connect it directly to my MB?

Opening the drive most probably will void the warranty. Anyway, there are quite a lot of videos on youtube of how to open this exact model as well as many others.
