Sapphire Tri-X vs Sapphire Toxic (tri-X) 280X. What's the difference?

Here in Australia, the toxic 280x is roughly 385 dollars and the tri-x is only 329 dollars.
Which is about 47 dollars difference and the only difference I can see between these cards is about a 50mhz higher clock rate on the gpu core. Now obviously it is not worth the extra clock rate as I could overclock it myself,

but what is the differences between these two cards? First off does the tri-x have a backplate like the Toxic? I just love back plates and I have seen people say that they do and some say they don't.

What other differences are there? say like with overclockability and cooling.

It looks like the Toxic has a back plate

While the TRI-X doesn't have one.

Anything else? Is the rest of the card design the same?

TOXIC seem's to get a minimal boost, that's about it I guess. Other than that they are both the same except the TOXIC has a back plate. The TRI-X come's OC'd, but the TOXIC has a bit higher OC than the TRI-X. Maybe you get like 4-6 FPS higher in games?

So that means most likely that the toxic is a higher binned chip for overclocking.
-Thanks.

Yea that's about it I guess :p When you are done send a pic of that sweet card in your RIG, I wanna see it :DDD

I will ;)
Might go with the tri-X version, the toxic just went up even more in price and I may as well manually overclock.
May be a while I have to sell my old 7850.
