So 2 of the pins of my USB 3.0 from the motherboard was bent and is cut off. Then it got stuck on the USB 3.0 Connector from a C.M Storm Scout cable of the front USB 3.0 port. It literally got lodged in the hole.

the pins that were cut off are 9 and 10.

I would like to have it removed. is there a way that i could split the connector in half to get it?

if i insert the usb 3.0 cable (with the pins lodged in) on a new motherboard would it caused a short circuit?

should i worry that the pins are stuck inside?

thank you for the answers.

so you have pins stuck inside the USB 3.0 header on the motherboard?

I would get hold of a small pair of pliers and try pull the out, It shouldn't short the motherboard as the pins normally go in there and are not in contact of anything it could to short it. It would be my recommendation to remove it though.

As for how deep the pins are and how it looks, it would be good for you to post an image.

the pins are inside really really deep, like a small pliers could not even touch the pin because it's so deep in the friendzone. kidding. the pin is literally half way down the hole of the header.

haha, that was quite funny. Haven't had such imagination on this forum before.

I would not tamper with the header, this could cause unrepairable damage and you'll be in a worse off situation then where you started.

Only thing you can do is live without the front USB 3.0 ports, if you need them your going to have to try get replacements of both the case 1/0 and motherboard.

I dont really mind having the USB 3.0 unusable. My concern is would it cause any trouble if I insert it on a new motherboard ( because there are 2 USB ports on the front and the one is still working ) but as you said it's fine. then I won't be bothered :D  thanks!

as long as your not having it plugged in it shouldn't be a problem. Having it plugged in also shouldn't be but if there is a gap between the motherboard pin and pin stuck in USB 3 plug it can cause sparks (Which may be a problem)

If you insert it on a new motherboard it won't work as there are two pins that won't go in because there are two stuck in there. You may end up breaking them also.

the pin is cleanly cut from the base. ( amazing isn't it? hehe ) yeah... I'll just try to live without a USB 3.0 in the front. thanks for the replies good sir!

you da real MVP!

I am curious to how you only broke 2 and not many more. Glad to have helped in the matter.

My bad for the late reply.

I'm guessing, when I inserted the cable, probably the 2 pins where the first to touch the cable and did not get inside the hole of the cable, then when i "force" ( actually I had little force inserting it, the pins are really fragile ) it just bent. XD
