Is this normal or worth worrying about i7 4790K temp

I bought new i7 4790K processor, and i am having 5 fans in my pc, 1 processor fan which came with the processor itself and rest chassis fans. When i play battlefield4 the highest temp reading in msi afterburner is 82 C. As soon as i close the game it drops to 60 C, I am not telling that the temp stays at 82 C , but the highest point is 82C, Intel tells that the high temp ratting limit is 72C, then why my cpu temp is reaching to much high, I also tested this with specs, it also show temp around 79C or so in the middle of the game, but drops to 60-65C as soon as i close the game? I am not at all doing any overclocking and stuff. And i believe my fans are more than sufficient for my setup, the mobo and GPU temps are very low , like 35C around , even at the middle of the game. The only thing alarming me is the CPU temp

Solution
absolutely fantastic.

I am glad that reapplying the thermal paste has fixed everything for you. it is amazing how the little things can have such a large affect.

a little patience and time and everything seems to be better now.

please come back if you ever need anything

i removed it once and then reinstalled it, becoz of the same problem , i used artic silver 5, and i believe that there is no issue with it.......

Having removed it, it is important that it was cleaned properly of the old thermal material before applying new paste.
You can do much better than the stock cooler anyway without it costing a lot.
Have a look at the Cooler Master 212 EVO.

MSI afterburner monitors gpu temp right? or am i wrong ahaha - 60 idle is like gpu temp.

get aida 64 or hw compare to check your temperature

your temps are a little high - normal are idle 40 degrees celsius and on load or benchmarking with prime 95 is 70 degrees celsius

My processor works on 4Ghz (at normal)and it can go up till4.4Ghz with intel tourbo boosting technology(automatic) , on running CPU-Z i have noticed that it is running at 4.398GHZ most of the time , even when i am using simple google chorme ? I think hence it is overheating......what u all say?

I don't think there is anything wrong with your processor.
If you don't do anything it will probably be OK.
I can only guess what might be wrong, maybe thermal paste or CPU fan settings in the BIOS.

Even if nothing is wrong, an after market cooler will keep your CPU at a lower temperature and it will be quieter than the stock cooler.

get a hyper evo 212

removed all remnants of the previous thermal paste

apply ample amount - install the heat sink correctly and there you go.

maybe the i7 really just runs hotter than other intel processors.

don't overclock, disable turbo boost. go to bios and set voltage to manual at minimum voltage required by your procie (1.00v + or something search google for default voltage of your procie)

go get yourself an aftermarket cooler and a good thermal paste.

make sure your case has good airflow and the ambient temp at 22-25 degrees celsius at best.

Yeah I think I got super lucky with the processor I got. My room temps are about 72-75 F.

Splendid
just a recap here:

1. case fans are sucking into the case from the front and then exhausting out the top and back.

2. your CPU is running stock frequencies but have you watched the voltage while it is running that hwifo64 gives that info

3. the fan is clean and running at top rpm, hwinfo will also tell you speed percentage and also rpm.

4. CPU cooler fins have been dusted using compressed air or something.

5. CPU cooler is seated firmly on CPU.

in your bios you should be able to set fans speeds. I would think your CPU is fine. has it always ran this hot. your prime95 temps are way out of range so something is not right with that cooler.
