Hi there,
Im in need of some help for a new build. I need a build for around the $1000 range. Obviously i want the best bang for the buck. I don't really care going a couple hundred over $1000 but not too much. Im planning to play games like, Battlefield 4, Advanced Warfare, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor...
By the way im from NZ, so if using PC part picker remember to make sure its NZ currency. I currently have a build for $1400, if needed i can post up.

Thanks

Thanks for the build, looks good. Just one issue, there are some compatibility issues
( I copied the following text from the PC Part Picker List )
Compatibility Notes
ASRock B85M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the BitFenix Merc Alpha (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.
The BitFenix Merc Alpha (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 320mm long, but video cards over 270mm may block drive bays. Since the Asus Radeon R9 280 3GB DirectCU II Video Card is 284mm long, some drive bays may not be usable.

Well, the first one is that the MoBo header for front ports are 3.0 while case has 2.0, so they may be unusable, a better case will solve this issue, but then you'd need to shell out some more bucks.
The second one is minor, you'd need to remove a couple of drive cages to make room for cards, that's nothing to worry about, it'll fit after you remove them :)

For the first compatibility issue, I wouldn't worry about it, it just means that you cannot use front panel USB 3.0 because your case does not support it, just change the case to one which has front panel USB 3.0 ports. For the second one, also try changing cases until you find one which comfortably fits the Radeon R9 280. One last thing, wouldn't the Gtx 760 4GB model be better?

If you want to save more money just remove the ssd, but if you have the extra cash I would suggest just leaving it in, as it provides a significant speed boost to your computer.

By the way, this build has no incompatibility issues.

Sorry, just realized they're basically the same build ;p
Also, so is the GTX 760 better than the radeon 270 and 280?

I would certainly at least go for the graphics card I chose, the MSI gtx 760 4GB, as it will have good performance and it is more power efficient than the R9 280. The rest of the build is your choice, but may I at least suggest an ssd, even a 120gb ssd will speed up booting and performance on your computer build.

EDIT: Your build is fine, maybe tone down the ssd to a 120gb one, and upgrade the graphics card to a gtx 760 either the 2gb or the 4gb depending on your budget, but if the difference is around $20-25 just get the 4gb one.

There's no difference in 4GB or 2GB versions unless you want to SLI in future, which you can't do with the current MoBos, there's absolutely NO difference. R9 280 is better than 760 raw performance wise.

In that case, I would get the R9 280 with a good cooler, maybe gigabyte, msi or asus? Any of those are good, but you may just want to have a look at the clock speeds and cooling temperatures.
