I am wanting to get an ultrabook but the prices for i3 and i5 haswell are ridiculously high here, so i was told that I should wait for the core M which will decreases the prices of haswell and ivybridge. Any idea when they'll hit the market in ultrabooks?

Well answer me this, would u consider 3.4 ghz pentium 4 over a (hypothetical single core) i7 4th gen with a clock speed of 1.8ghz? The output per core of atom processors are not upto the mark and these processors are not made for gaming. You may have seen those phones with the atom processors, well this are almost the same deal but with a higher clock speed and some extra cores since they can get sufficient power and ambient space for cooling in laptops...

The broadwell series of processor will come in october which will also feature the M series processor but i hardly think that ultrabooks prices will go down and general ultrabooks dont have dedicated gpu and only the integrated one which is a big con. Plus broadwell wont last long cause intel will also launch skylake series which will feature next year. What are your daily requirements btw ? http://www.itpro.co.uk/mobile/22111/intel-broadwell-core-m-release-date-set-for-october

Just working most of the time and then sometimes if i feel like it, i might game a bit on low graphics tbh but nothing hardcore as i've got a PC and a laptop already and my laptop has i7. I thought that i3-i5 ivybridge would be sufficient for my needs as i'll just borwse, watch movies, do uni work (micrsoft excel). But then i was looking at the Atom processors (N3520) as they're quad cores but they're weaker? and since i3-i5 are dual cores, i was thinking that they won't last me long. I'll be using it for around 3 years.

Well the ultrabooks dont quite excel in gaming and is just used for fast processing and boot time. The atom processors are not good and only good in types of tablets and mobile phones and thats why the ultrabooks generally bundle with the haswell U series processors consisting of the i5, i7 etc and they also dont have a dedicated gpu unless u go for the enthusiastic range(above 1000$) and hence these ultra lappys are good in the general usage and not for high graphical usage(gaming). As for the processors, the haswell series dont have the dual core i5 and the both processors will last long enough till you want an upgrade.

When you say that atom quad cores aren't good. What are you talking about since they're higher clocked and are quad cores. One negative is that their gpu is quite weak but then isn't that decent for normal working and light gaming since they're way cheaper than i5 U processors.
