Built a new computer last night with the intention to run Windows Vista on it, but none of my onboard controllers are recognized. The drivers on the installation CD that came with my motherboard was no help. I even tried downloading drivers from Intel, etc for the components and no dice.

This is my motherboard:

Do I really need to upgrade or is there anything I can do?

Windows Vista support/updates has been long gone for quite some time now. It is time for an OS upgrade. I would not upgrade to XP as support/updates has also stopped as of recently. I would go to windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

That motherboard was never intended for windows vista to be installed in the first place, that board was released very recently and that OS was released January 2007, 7 years ago.
