So i'm considering upgrading my pc with another gpu. While I do know it's not necessary, I just want to. But i'm not sure if my PSU will manage both of them. The two cards i will have in my pc are the XFX Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition and MSI R7970 Lightning Boost Edition. The rest of my system: I7 4770, Gskill 8gb ripjaws, z87-hd3 gigabyte mobo, 1tb hdd, coolermaster g750m psu.

DO NOT add a second graphics card, it will cause issue and will not perform anywhere NEAR where it can.

Your second PCI-e slot will run in only x4 mode, which is a bottleneck. You need at least a PCI 2.0 x8 slot to be able to run a card optimally.

Adding a second card in crossfire could actually reduce your gaming performance.

Is it because of my Motherboard? or do you mean in general?

Your motherboard does not support Crossfire well, 1 graphics card will run in X16 whilst the other in X4. The second card will be bottlenecked by quite a bit, and the bandwidth of X4 slots is not good enough for those cards in Crossfire.

I would advise you either to not do the upgrade or upgrade your motherboard and power supply to something better.

Yes, your motherboard.

You wuold be better off selling your graphics card and buying a GTX970, which is almost twice as fast for just over 300$. VERY much worth it.
