Hey all

I'm needing to get a new psu for my system. I currently have a cheapy 650w CIT psu in thats overheating like mad.

My system is:

ASRock 960GC-GS FX Mobo
AMD FX6300 6 Core (3.5 GHz)
8gb crucial ballistix tactical ram
RadeonHD 6870 gfx
500gb Sata drive

Nothings overclocked and standard fans

Will the XFX 550W Core Edition 80+ Bronze PSU be enough to power my system?

Cheers

Thanks for the replies, does it leave much headroom for upgrades in the future ie graphics card or a bit of over clocking and a new cpu fan?

It depends on the specific graphics card. You could probably get away with a new GTX 970, since it sips power. OC-ing and fans will add more of load, but not much.

If you want a little more headroom, grab the 650W model. The non-modular version is only $50 on Amazon.

EDIT: (make that $50 on NCIXUS.com, after a $20 rebate) :p
