Hello everyone, I need to ask a few questions about upgrading my pc parts.

First here are my current parts :

CPU : AMD FX8320, currently overclocked to 4.4ghz at around 1.4125v (something like that)
CPU COOLER : CM hyper 212 evo
GPU : Reference Nvidia GTX 650
MOBO : Asrock 970 Extreme3 r2.0
CASE : Fractal Design Define R4 Non-window version
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM
PSU : LPC 550 watts, I have no other infos on it (not sure what's the ranking)

So the parts I want to upgrade the gpu and the psu,

I want to get a gtx 970 but I'm not sure which one is the best. If I have the money in 5 months, I will get the gtx 980 but I don't know which gpus are the best for each, so far the ones that interest me a lot was the asus strix for 970 and gigabyte for 980, why? Asus strix has a perfect 0db mode and gigabyte has this huge overclocking headroom that boosts the performance by like 20%

The PSU i'm getting is the evga 750g2 because apparently it's an excellent one. If there are any cheaper 750 watt psu then please recommend some.

I also want to upgrade my cpu cooler fan because it's currently making a weird noise. What's a good fan to replace the current one on the cm hyper 212 evo?
That's all I need. Please answer :c

Anyways, have a nice day and thank you for reading/answering :)

I would recommend getting this PSU.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Solid built, 80+ Bronze, Tier 2 Class A- PSU. Solid Line.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I would recommend ZOTAC 970 GPU, only because they have great cooling and they perform great.

I've never been disappointed by ZOTAC, and hopefully you won't be to ^.^ But if you want between those two then Gigabyte all the way, why? I care not to much for noise as long as it's not painfully jet loud, I care more for performance anyways.

If your CPU Fan is making a wierd noise then replace it by telling CM. There is no need to swap out the 212 EVO since it's an amazing Cooler for the price. :)

Hi, thanks for answering.

Will 620 watts be enough to power an fx 8320 overclocked and a gtx 970/980?
I just wanted 750 watts to be overkill and 100% sure. Besides, I WANT the evga 750g2, so I'm getting that.

For the GPU, I want the best performance of all the 970s now as long as it cools properly not like the r9 290x that runs at constant 95c lol.

And maybe I wrote it the wrong way, or you misunderstood. What I want to do is replace the 120mm fan on the heatsink, not change the whole thing. I find that the cpu cooler does an excellent job, hardly ever goes past 40c+ stays around 20c at idle.

620 will be enough but that evga PSU is a tier one PSU so go for it :) . A 970 is a 970. The only difference between each and everyone is that if they are OC to run faster, but depending on the OC You will minimally notice a difference. Either way you get to max out games regardless.

Noctuas will be a great replacement for your 212, and what I meant by what I said was to return the fan and get a new one, not the heatsink :p . But I would get noctuas for your 212

Very well, after some research I'm going to get the noctua nf f12, I hope that I won't need a new mounting kit because I lost the other brackets to install another fan for push/pull. Anyways thanks for you help :)
