Is there a possible way to bypass traffic shaping on a network?

I believe there's traffic shaping afoot where I work. The speeds that I have access to just don't match up with the speeds I should have access to. I don't care so much about the actual speed, but this is a good opportunity to try to get past it, and pick up some valuable experience in the process.

Note: I do not believe this is on the ISP side. I believe it originates from the IT department.

Dont get fired... My place of employment has rules about proxy bypass on their network.

I'm not in any danger of getting fired over it. I haven't even been told not to do it.

My boss is fine with my playing around on the network. So is the IT department. I've asked. They're convinced I know enough that I won't break anything.

So that being said, I'm just trying to find the best answer to my question. @inerax, you mentioned proxies. Could you elaborate on how that would be effective?

Thanks in advance lol

Wouldn't it be easier for the IT to bypass your ip address?

Possibly. But I'm trying to see if there's another way to do it. As I said, I'm doing this more for the "learning experience" then for any actual speed. Having someone else do it for me seems...redundant.
