asus rampage III black edition + GTX 780 + error code 85 or 58?

Hi guys,

I have this mobo with core i7 and 12gb ram tri-channel(4x4x4) and corsair tx750 for supply.

I had a ge force gtx 750 but I do not know what happened, but it broken. A person that I sent the PC to check gave me that information. I tried with another VGA and worked.

So, I bought a GTX 780 and I can not come it working. No boot, no post, nothing and in the mobo I can see code 85.

I have no idea what can it be... Any help?

According to you manual error code 85 means "80 – 8F : OEM DXE initialization codes"...try resetting the CMOS/BIOS and testing other memory module on it(borrow from a friend for testing).

BTW since writing this asus website seems to be down...will post an update after they finished their maintenance.

hi,

I tried removing memo and clear cmos, but no way.
Follow print of my mobo. I do not know if all leds are OK some leds are orange

I can not attach files?

how could you interpret 85 as 80 - 8F???

80- 8f is a hexadecimal number. it goes as 80..81..82. to ....8D...8E and 8F


oh and error code 58 is "58 CPU self test failed or possible CPU cache error" hhhmmm try reseating the CPU and put thermal paste between the cpu and the heatsink. might help.

I could do it work, but temp is 84C. I will try paste or buy a new fan, maybe corsair H75? What do you suggest?
